Each day was started by Biblical truth being portrayed by some great volunteers.

What did you learn at VBS?

Nursery Guidelines

First Presbyterian Church of Pooler Nursery Information We want to inform families who attend and visit our church of the basics of the nursery ministry. We appreciate you taking the time to read and comply with our basic guidelines and policies. We recognize that children are a blessing from the Lord, given to you as parents as a special gift to raise and train in the knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord. If you choose to utilize our nursery, then your child will be cared for and loved by volunteers of this church. Nursery Rooms, Hours, and Ages We have three nursery rooms, which include an Infant room, a Mover room for one and two year-olds, and a Toddler room for older two and three year-olds. 1) During Sunday School from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. the Mover and Toddler rooms are open. During this time the Infants are cared for in the Mover room. 2) During the Sunday Morning Worship Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. all three nursery rooms are open. * 3) During the Sunday Evening Service after family worship at 6:15 p.m., the Mover and Toddler rooms are available. The Infants are cared for in the Mover room. (*If we are not serving many children on a given Sunday, then only two of the three nursery rooms will remain open) Snacks Unless you specify otherwise, your child will be offered a light snack and juice if he or she is in the Mover or Toddler room. If your child has any food allergies or cannot eat the provided snack, then please inform the nursery caregiver. Sickness Policy We intend to provide an environment where the children in the nursery are healthy and free from exposure to any recent infectious illness. The last thing you want as a parent is to deliver a healthy child to the nursery, only to get a sick one in return! In doing our part, the nursery toys will be cleaned and disinfected weekly. Your part is to please keep your children home when you observe any of the following within 24 hours of bringing them to the church nursery: *Fever (99.6 or higher) *Vomiting or Diarrhea *Discharge in or around the eyes *Green or yellow runny nose *Excessive coughing *Questionable rash Parents will be immediately contacted if their children become ill while in the nursery. Parent Responsibilities 1) Upon your first visit, please complete the Nursery Information Card for use by the nursery caregivers. This card provides information that will enable those caring for your children to give them the best care possible. 2) Next, please sign your child in. 3) Upon signing in, we will write your child’s name on a sticky label so that we can identify your child and call him or her by name. 4) If at all possible, the same parent should drop off and pick-up the child. Please do not send older children to drop off or pick-up the child. If an adult other than a parent has permission from the parent to pick up the child, please notify the nursery caregivers in advance. 5) Clearly mark all your items from home, including diaper bags, bottles, cups, and pacifiers. Attaching one of our FPCP tags to your child’s diaper bag will help us identify which bag belongs to you and can be used for your child. 6) Please leave personal toys at home, unless it is a security item. 7) Share any special instructions with the nursery caregiver. Caregivers are not permitted to administer medication to any child. 8) Please pick-up your child as soon as possible at the close of each church activity. Our volunteers need to be able to leave to pick-up their children in other rooms.

First Pres. Families and Fireworks

Watching the Savannah fireworks from Hutchison Island.

Pastor Fender returns from Indonesia

Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world and yet a place where God is actively at work. It was my privilege to return for the third time to teach pastors. I lectured at two conferences, one on the main island of Java and the other on Sumba Island. Thank you for your prayers and support. It is great to be home with my church family. In Christ, John Fender
